  1. Cape to Cape Outdoor Activities in The Northumberland Shore
    The Cape to Cape trail system is an ambitious project that strives to create a footpath that crosses Nova Scotia and links two exceptionally scenic lookouts: Cape George and Cape Chignecto. The hundreds of kilometers of hiking paths cross four counties. Some of them are meant to be easy afternoon strolls, while others represent a challenge to even serious hikers. Each trail segment is an adventure of its own. Find a trail that appeals to you and put on your hiking shoes.
  2. RumRunners Trail
    RumRunners Trail is a partnership of seven trails to develop and manage the 110km trail corridor collaboratively. It stretches from Halifax to the Town of Lunenburg. Please note: Some sections have been repaired from the July 2023 floods, but caution is advised on some trail sections.
  3. Celtic Shores Trail System
    Distance: 92 km total
    Level of difficulty: Easy
    Celtic culture comes alive on this section of the TCT. Stretching from Port Hastings to Inverness, this multi-use path yields stunning views across Cape Breton Island.
