Hike Canada En Marche is excited to announce the National Hiking Award, which recognizes and celebrates individuals who demonstrate a commitment to hiking, trail maintenance, community participation, and environmental stewardship. The award is divided into two categories: Adult and Youth, with three levels of achievement in each.
To earn these awards, participants will be required to complete online exams covering various topics related to hiking trails, historic trails, indigenous trails, weather safety, environmental awareness, nature, geography, and history. The exams will assess participants’ knowledge and understanding of these subjects, ensuring that awardees possess a well-rounded understanding of hiking and its associated aspects. The National Hiking Award aims to promote outdoor exploration, appreciation for nature, and responsible hiking practices. By emphasising trail maintenance, community engagement, and environmental stewardship, the award encourages participants to become advocates for the preservation and enjoyment of hiking trails nationwide.
We encourage all hiking enthusiasts to embark on this rewarding journey, expanding their knowledge and skills while making a positive impact on the hiking community and the environment. Stay tuned for further updates and instructions on how to participate in the National Hiking Award program.
